Excavation for the new Spa began in October 2007 and the clearing of the site adjacent to the existing Leisure Club heralded the start of this multi million pound development. The existing Leisure Club had opened its doors some 23 years ago and was at that time state-of-the-art
... no longer so...the expectations of modern day guests having changed dramatically so early 2007 plans were submitted to the Lake District Planning Board to be accepted as a much needed development in the Lake District.
The Spa at Armathwaite Hall Country House Hotel takes its inspiration from the rich timber of the surrounding woodlands and the serenity of Lake Bassenthwaite. An indoor waterfall and uninterrupted views of the lush gardens create a luxurious environment for those enjoying the spa experience.
The Spa is for the use of hotel residents, day spa experience guests and an annual membership is available for local residents. Together with the grandeur of the Stately Home of Armathwaite Hall and the contemporary quality of The Spa, the Lake District spa destination opened January 2009.
For some The Spa will be a place to retreat and restore, while for others it will be a place to socialise, celebrate and have fun. With 30 years
spa hotel experience and the Halls reputation for exacting standards of customer care and friendly yet unobtrusive staff The Spa experience exceeds the expected.

Spa breaks at The Spa at Armathwaite Hall Hotel & Spa - one of the finest luxury spa hotels in the uk
Spa Hotels Make You Happy Spa Breaks at Spa Hotels have been studied at Cornell University. What results did they come up with? You might be surprised, as well as sold on why visiting a Spa Hotel might be a really good idea. Based on the study at Cornell University, people that visit Spa Hotels are happier, healthier and in better shape than people who visit standard resorts and hotels. This definitely says something about the services, scenery and atmosphere that the majority of Spa Hotels offer. At most Spa Hotels, you can find whatever you’re looking for. If you want a massage, no problem. If you’re looking for more adventure by hiking, cycling or kayaking, at least one of those are often options as well. And if you need help getting rid of a bad habit, the staff at a Spa Hotel can often help you out. Advanced visualization and hypnosis are common practices to help you cure your bad habit. Based on everything that is offered to you at a Spa Hotel, they should really be looked at as Spa Breaks, not Spa Hotels. And if you’re looking to take advantage of these Spa Breaks, they can be found all around the country, east to west. One of the best ideas to take advantage of when it comes to Spa Breaks is to surprise your significant other for a birthday or anniversary present. There isn’t anything else in the world that could be more romantic. The pampering he or she will receive isn’t a bad feature, either.
