Excavation for the new Spa began in October 2007 and the clearing of the site adjacent to the existing Leisure Club heralded the start of this multi million pound development. The existing Leisure Club had opened its doors some 23 years ago and was at that time state-of-the-art
... no longer so...the expectations of modern day guests having changed dramatically so early 2007 plans were submitted to the Lake District Planning Board to be accepted as a much needed development in the Lake District.
The Spa at Armathwaite Hall Country House Hotel takes its inspiration from the rich timber of the surrounding woodlands and the serenity of Lake Bassenthwaite. An indoor waterfall and uninterrupted views of the lush gardens create a luxurious environment for those enjoying the spa experience.
The Spa is for the use of hotel residents, day spa experience guests and an annual membership is available for local residents. Together with the grandeur of the Stately Home of Armathwaite Hall and the contemporary quality of The Spa, the Lake District spa destination opened January 2009.

Osteopathy is a well known remedy for many ills and we are delighted to announce that from 12th May 2010 we have secured the services of internationally respected Osteopath Timothy Marris who will hold a clinic every Wednesday afternoon at Armathwaite Hall. Yoga classes will be held every Tuesday evening at 6.00pm and every Saturday afternoon at 2.00pm at The Spa at Armathwaite Hall. The classes will last an hour and all levels of ability are welcome. You are requested to wear comfortable clothing. Places will be limited so pre-booking is essential. There will be a fee of £2.00 for members and £4.00 for non-members.
